ENeRG co-organised a geoscientific conference in Belgrade

The 3rd International Conference "Geosciences and Environment" took place in Belgrade, Serbia, on 27-29 May 2012. It was hosted by the Association of Geophysicists and Environmentalists of Serbia (AGES) and co-organised by ENeRG, CO2GeoNet and CGS Europe. The Serbian ENeRG country representative Prof. Dr. Snezana Komatina-Petrovic acted as President of the Organising Committee.

The technical programme of the conference included a Plenary Session with invited lectures and 5 Technical Sessions. ENeRG Steering Committee members Dr. Alla Shogenova (Institute of Geology at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia) and Prof. Saulius Sliaupa (Institute of Geology and Geography, Vilnius, Lithuania) presented two plenary lectures and chaired several sessions including a special ENeRG session focused on geo-energy.

The Conference was followed by the 3rd International Geosciences Student Conference on 29-31 May. The students’ conference included lectures and excursions for students as well as student poster and oral presentations. Dr. A. Shogenova gave an ENeRG lecture for students on CO2 mineral carbonation technology. A report on the students’ conference is available here.
