CGS Europe project received CSLF award

The CGS Europe project (Pan-European coordination action on CO2 Geological Storage) received the CSLF Global Achievement Award in recognition of its advancement of CCS technologies at the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) meeting held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 1-5 November 2015. Isabelle Czernichowski (BRGM, CGS Europe co-ordinator) and Sergio Persoglia (OGS) received the prize on behalf of the project consortium from Mr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia (first CSLF Ministerial Co-Chair) and Mr. Ernest Moniz, Secretary of Energy of United States (second CSLF Ministerial Co-Chair) – see photo.
Two other projects were awarded at the meeting: the CO2 Capture Project Phase 3 (USA), and the CO2CRC Otway Project Stage 1 (Australia).
CGS Europe was led by BRGM and was successfully concluded in 2014. Many ENeRG partners actively participated in the consortium.
